BEAUTY & THE REMAKE

Updated: Nov 1, 2024

2nd Corinthians 5:17- Therefore if anyone be in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone, the new is here! Truth: You are new in Christ!

While most normal repairs of broken things hide themselves, like nicely sealed super glue fixes, the usual intent is simply to make something “as good as new.” Yet, one would think this tactic reinforces a belief that the repair can make things not only as good as they were before, but “better than new.”

Better than new. Let that marinate for a moment. Just imagine driving down the highway, perfect weather, perfect speed, when all of a sudden yes your approaching an overhead bridge and down drops a huge brick right in the middle of your windshield!! You can’t see a thing, BUT God protects you. There are lies out there that swirl around and whisper to your deepest soul in weak moments, when you’ve lost your grip, and things come crashing down. You feel the need to hide the scars. You feel like the brokenness has made you feel useless in life. You might even feel beyond repair this time. I’ve been there. If you’re honest, so have you. You feel tossed aside. Forgotten. Shamed. Rejected. Yet God breaks through all that mess. You are never beyond healing. You are never too broken for restoration. You are never too shattered for repair. Don't be ashamed of your scars, of the deep crevices that line your soul, or the broken places of your life. They have an amazing story to tell. Remember, everything we go through in life is for reason. The most exciting thing about a "remake" is that we have the authority to decide what that looks like. There is beauty in the remake! So often, we allow others and "society" to define "beauty". So often, no matter how much we've grown from our past mistakes and come into our wonderfully and uniquely designed self, there are those who will always remind you of the person you "were", Just remember that verse in 2nd Corinthians, 5:17. Just because we’ve been broken doesn’t mean that we are thrown away. Just because we’ve been broken doesn’t mean that we are un-usable, set up on a shelf. Just because we’ve been broken doesn’t mean that we are forgotten. Just because we've been broken, WE ARE BEING REMADE! Remember, it was necessary! Brokenness has the power, unlike anything else, to bring forth new beauty, strength, and inspiration to others. Because it’s often in those moments that we’ve tasted deep suffering, hurt, pain, that we noticed, we were made for more. There’s more. There’s purpose. It’s up to us to ask God to show us. Not our will but his will for our life. In this new year, we all have the ability to choose how we can remake certain area of our lives that have been shattered in ways that may seem unrepairable. There are times in our life that we must reinvent ourselves. We grow in ways we never could have imagined. God does not want us to remain stagnant. He wants us to discover and see ourselves just how he sees us and in order to do that, we must surrender and allow HIM to create a work of beauty in every aspect of or lives. No matter what area we may require a remake, He's there to help us so just sit back and see what colors the walls gonna turn! I'm sure it's gonna be absolutely beautiful for there's ALWAYS beauty in the remake!
